I started writing code before the Internet. Yes, unbelievably, there was such a time. My understanding of tech goes deeper than what’s the latest hot topic. I bring my knowledge and vast experience to you when we work on creating a new site expressing who you and your organization are.
I’ve been in the IT field for more than twenty years, having worked as a computer programmer, database manager of large-scale conversions, IT manager, software quality analyst, web production assistant. I’ve coded in a number of arcane programming languages (Pascal, anyone?).
I’ve worked in all sectors: non-profit, worker-owned cooperative, government, corporate, and start up.
I’ve worked with websites since 2001 and in WordPress since 2006.
As an IT Manager, my coworkers voted me as Worker of the Month three times. When I worked at the United States Environmental Protection Agency, I won the Web Workgroup Award for Outstanding Web Achievement.
Once I was a little kid who liked being outdoors, drawing, and doing math and puzzles. In some ways, not much has changed. I’m a visual artist (schatzkin.com), who creates drawings and mixed media art. I’m a member of ProArts, the Berkeley Art Center, and listed in the National Museum of Women in the Arts’ database. Being an active, professional artist keeps my creative thinking fresh.
I’m a member of Tech Underground, a network of technology consultants providing mission-driven organizations high-quality, affordable expertise.
Laura and Kathleen met while working together on the Royal Raspberry site, and quickly realized that they had a good team going. Since then, they have worked together on many sites including Bay Nature, Hayward Area Historical Society (HAHS), and Farai.com.
